FC Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura said that Lionel Messi
"will not be forced" in his attempts to recover from the hamstring
injury he suffered against Paris Saint-Germain FC during the week. The
Argentina forward is believed to be making solid progress as he looks to
recover full fitness and although he has been ruled out of Saturday's
Liga encounter against RCD Mallorca, it is still unknown whether he will
make it in time for Wednesday's return against the French Ligue 1
leaders.
"We have to see how [his leg] is responding and how the injury reacts
between now and the middle of the week," said Roura. "He is such a
competitive player who always wants to play. Everything depends on what
he and the club medics say at the end of the day but the situation will
not be forced." There was some good news for Barça on the injury front,
with Pedro Rodríguez (calf) and Adriano (hamstring) both returning to training having recently suffered muscle tears.
